This week marks the release of his brilliant debut solo album "Eye See" by Isaac Aesili and the kick off of his nationwide tour. This is the first single off the album, featuring local singer Aaradhna:
Isaac Aesili’s debut solo album Eye See is a rich tapestry of sound with R&B at its heart, and lashings of soul, reggae and funk woven within. Experimental and futuristic in some parts, warm and soulful in others, the album, an extension of its author, is a tribute to diversity. Over the last decade Isaac has been an integral member of Solaa, Opensouls, Recloose Live and Eru Dangerspiel.
Solaa released an album to critical acclaim, called 'Steps in Time' and tour New Zealand extensively. I thought I'd include my favourite track off the album for you guys to check out. You might recognise the vocalist, she has released three tracks through Whitelabel.net previously:
In fact, it's with Dave Wright, his partner in crime from Solaa, that he embarks on a nationwide tour. Dave Wright is now a member of the new (and amazing) future soul band Electric Wire Hustle, who coincidentally released their debut album on the same day as Isaac.
Isaac Aesili and The Vision band and Electric Wire Hustle will be celebrating all their hard work by touring a multi-media, multi–sensational show in 5 centres – Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Queenstown and Christchurch in early September. Things kick off tonight for everyone in Auckland at Khuja Lounge - if you're in town, pop a long to what is sure to be a great gig.
