Decyfa began his love of music singing along to tapes his mother used to play in the car, "I'd find myself singing along to the likes of Jodeci, R Kelly, Michael Jackson and even Barry White. Not long after this I found a love for writing my own songs. As I grew up my focus shifted from singing to rapping and I got into the likes of 2Pac, Biggie and Dr Dre. Eventually my taste for hip hop developed into the underground, battle style of lyricism shown in movies such as 8 Mile which turned me to internet forums, where I could develop and explore the skills involved in this style of writing, guided and mentored by a fellow web writer Shadow Skill."

Making music halted in 2005 for a while as Decyfa left for The University in Portsmouth, but soon he was back to writing recording and producing.
